Swimming pools in Amsterdam: outdoor & summer proof

Since the end of April, most of Amsterdam’s outdoor swimming pools are open again, hopefully for a warm summer. These are the outdoor pools where you can go for a refreshing swim.

Noorderparkbad

The complex was reopened two years ago and how. With a 25 meter pool, two paddling pools and a bath with a seven meter high slide, there is something to do for every swimmer. This bath also won a prize for the world’s most beautiful swimming pool. Didn’t burn enough calories after swimming? Then you can just go on the volleyball court.

Mirandabad

De Mirandabad also has a large lawn with different pools: a paddling pool, a shallow pool with a pirate ship and a 50-meter pool with diving board. For swimmers older than 14 years, a pass is mandatory here, so leave home a little earlier to apply for the pass and to prevent you from ending up in a long line.

Brediusbad

The pool on the Spaarndammerdijk is complete with sun loungers, a kiosk, a 33 meter pool and a recreational pool, a great place to splash in the summer. And in the green surroundings are also great.

Flevoparkbad

The widely acclaimed outdoor pool in Flevopark almost had to close its doors a few years ago, but fortunately a number of regular visitors made sure that the pool could remain open. The French newspaper Le Monde awarded it the very best outdoor swimming pool in the world. In addition to the 50-meter pool, there is a shallow pool for children – with slide – and also a separate single-deep paddling pool. On the large lawn there is also a large climbing device with a sandpit and an air cushion.

Sloterparkbad

Next to the bath, located on the Sloterplas, is an immense playground with climbing equipment and a water swing. The complex consists of a 50 meter competition pool and a 25 meter pool for the little ones: it is no deeper than 1.40 meters.

De meerkamp

In addition to swimming, children can play to their hearts’ content, there is a volleyball court, zip line, bouncy castle and a football field. The sunbathing lawn can be found around it. You can paddle in the paddling pool with play equipment and take a dip in the competition pool.

Amstelbad

A little further away from the city, but you do not swim less about it. With three baths (paddling pool, half-deep and one deep bath), a sand castle, mini-golf course and also a voleyball court here you can go with all your swimming and leisure needs.
