Workplaces in Amsterdam

Amsterdam is full of freelancers. Volkshotel

Another great spot to work for a longer time. The opening of the Volkshotel was really a thing at the time. It was the first place in the Wibautstraat neighborhood where self-employed people can work for free for a whole day. This is especially recommended in the summer, because at rooftop bar Canvas on the 7th you can have a good drink after work.

Location
Wibautstraat 150, 1091 GR Amsterdam

The Pool

Directly opposite the Volkshotel you will find the Student Hotel and there you are more than welcome as a flex worker. The interior with the Miami colors and cheerful vibe always provides you with a good dose of work vitamins. Also nice: you can have a very affordable lunch if you just need a break.

Location
Wibautstraat 131, 1091 GL Amsterdam

OBA (public Library)

Many paid workplaces and cafes can barely compete with the workplaces in the library. And that is of course not so strange. It is not only relaxed in the library, but you also have all the professional literature and fun magazines (for distraction or inspiration) at hand. The OBA in Amsterdam has a lot of good workplaces and it is nice and cool.

Oosterdokskade 143, 1011 DL Amsterdam

CT Coffee & Coconuts

Especially early in the morning you are on the first floor here at CT Coffee & Coconuts, which is a great workingplace. After 12 o’clock it gets a bit noisy so keep that in mind.

Amsterdam still has dozens of nice cafes where you can drink delicious coffee and fold out your laptop for a few hours, but the facilities here are more limited (fewer outlets, and only space if you arrive at a suitable time). Anne & Max (Amstelveense weg), De Stadskantine (Van Woustraat) and De Ysbreeker are great flex cafés in Amsterdam. You can also choose De Koffiesalon (located in various locations) or Pllek in Amsterdam North (warmed by the fireplace, working on the Chesterfield with a cool view of the IJ).
