When it comes to taking a trip to Amsterdam, one of the first things you will notice is that this is a city which loves to have some fun. So, where should you go if you want to make your time in the festivals of Amsterdam worth your time?

DGTL

DGTL makes an obvious choice to go and visit if you are looking to have some fun, let loose and just enjoy the city a bit more. It’s a yearly festival, and often takes place in mid to late April. All manner of top quality DJs come along to this one, so try and make the time to come along and see it for yourself first-hand.

Awakenings Festival

Another popular festival to go and visit is the June-held Awakenings festival. This wonderful exploration of high quality living and wild living is one of the best places to start your journey off with. It’s the perfect way to experience the richness and vibrancy of the city whilst allowing for you to enjoy some special sights all held in the Velsen Valley in the northwest of the city.

The Tulip Festival

Held in April, the Tulip Festival is one that all lovers of horticulture can enjoy going along to. Over 500,000 tulips are put on display in this event, which spans across the majority of the first two weeks of April. Definitely worth your time if you are a fan of horticulture and of natural beauty.

The Pop Arts Festival

While this is one for children more than the single traveller, you will find that this is a wonderful festival to come along to. It’s often held in April, and draws large family crowds from across the country. Definitely worth your time if you are looking for a festival that really plays on the visual appeal of the city.

Dekmantel Festival

The Dekmantel Festival is the perfect way to make sure that the time you spend in The Netherlands is as enjoyable as it possibly can be. It’s the kind of lasting and enriching experience that can really make all the difference to the kind of time you have in Amsterdam, with all manner of top quality DJs from across Europe making an appearance.

Mysteryland Festival

The Mysteryland Festival, held in August, might just be the best place for you to come when you are looking to really make the most of your time here in Amsterdam. It’s been going since 1993, and in that time has established its reputation as one of the most elite festivals around. If you haven’t already been to this festival, we almost demand that you make the time to go and see it.

London Calling

While the night might be a bit off-putting, you will find that a trip to London Calling is an absolute must. This festival, usually held in May, offers one of the most illuminating experiences of what Amsterdam can be like. The Mystic Garden Festival

Be sure to come along to the Mystic Garden Festival, normally held in May. It’s the kind of high-octane experience that can help you enjoy your time in Amsterdam. Five different stages all appear, making it very easy for you to enjoy banging music of just about any kind that you like. It’s more or less the perfect place to come to when you like your festivals to be wild and whacky.

Dance Valley

No festival list in Amsterdam would be complete without mentioning the amazing Dance Valley. All manner of top names take part in this amazing experience, and will be taking place in early August most of the time. Almost certainly the perfect place to be when you are looking to see some of the biggest names in electronic dance music from the past, present and future.
