Different markets in Amsterdam

In Amsterdam you can find lots of markets. At the “Book market” at Spui you can find all kind of books on Friday from 10 a.m. – 6.00 p.m. Do you love foodtrucks? Then you definitely need to visit the “Foodtrucks Ten Katemarkt” every Thursday from 4.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. Below we also listed several markets that are open daily. Note that most markets are closed on Sunday.

The Flower market

The Amsterdam Flower Market is a market that is perhaps better known by tourists than by locals. You can buy all kinds of flowers, bulbs, plants and souvenirs. Nevertheless, this is a good market to buy flowers and / or nice plants for cheaply. Therefore we recommend you to cycle along this market, because it is open seven days a week.

Open from Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.

The Dapper market

In Amsterdam East you can at least fill half a day with the various stalls of the Dappermarkt. You can go here for your daily groceries, fresh fish, nice clothes or a nice bunch of flowers. Definitely try the Vietnamese spring rolls and Dutch Mini Pancakes.

The Ten Katemarket

The Ten Katemarkt is located in the pleasant neighborhood of Amsterdam Old West, to be precise on the Kinkerstraat. You can go there for all kinds of products ranging from fruit and vegetables, flowers, cheese, to clothing and other useful products such as bicycle locks. It may not be the largest market in Amsterdam, but it is one of the cheapest. In short, perfect for buying mountains of fruit and vegetables cheaply.

The Flea Market on Waterlooplein

Waterlooplein is the oldest flea market in the Netherlands. Here you will find everything from vintage cameras and used books to jewelry and the latest fashion for little. In addition to the tastiest fries, you can also try delicious Italian, Lebanese or Greek snacks at the various food trucks.

The best market in Amsterdam: The Albert Kuyp Market

Although there are several good markets in Amsterdam, we definitely have one favorite and that is the Albert Kuyp Market. When we talk about markets in Amsterdam, the Albert Cuyp cannot be missed. This is the largest open air market in Europe. This market has it all: a good atmosphere, delicious food and many different stalls. You can visit this market here from Monday to Saturday to do some good shopping, buy a new outfit or just to try all different kind of foods.
