Best techno clubs in Amsterdam

Are you looking for the best techno clubs in Amsterdam? In Amsterdam… you are definitely at the right place for a good techno party! Amsterdam has become one of Europe’s most popular cities to party. This is because the city has one of the best line-ups in Europe. Different locations and settings, such as old warehouses, form a fun base for the techno parties. We listed the best techno clubs in our lovely city:

Shelter

Shelter is second home to traditional and contemporary house and techno music. On the Overhoeksplein, right next to the A’DAM Toren, you find the entrance to the club in the form of a hydraulic hatch. Shelter has a capacity of around 700 visitors and is characterized by a powerful and diverse musical program. Shelter also distinguishes itself by the attention paid to the sound system and the design and application of the interior. Shelter is an independent part of the Tower, and has complete freedom in its creative and musical vision and direction. Check out their program here.

Radion Amsterdam

The club is located in the former dental center ACTA and can be seen as a cultural free port where people are constantly searching for the boundaries. At Radion there is a great sound system. The techno parties at Radion has proven that music and people are definitely connected to only one stage with different DJs! They will let you enjoy hours of (melodic) techno. De School

This is also a great location for a techno party! The bicycle shed of an old high school was converted into a dark underground club “De School”. In addition to the bicycle shed, many other parts of the old school building have been converted, including a restaurant, gym and art rooms. As one of the three lucky people in Amsterdam, the School is a holder of a 24-hour permit and therefore does not have to take into account legal closing times. The School can be seen as a kind of Dutch variant of Berghain in Berlin. The club is dark with only a few spots and strobes, taking pictures and videos is prohibited, the atmosphere is very open and… last but not least the music is “underground”. In De School, the club programming is mainly devoted to electronic music. This means pure techno and house. The DJs are eclectic all-rounders who know how to combine the most diverse styles in their DJ sets. Think of disco, soul, funk, urban. And a nice detail to know: a very extensive Funktion One sound system has been installed in De School. More details?

Depot

Raw and grand: DEPOT brings the old industrial house parties back to Amsterdam. Think of high ceilings, concrete walls, brick details and a dance floor on which 1,000 people can go crazy. Add to that electronic music, from techno to deep house, and you have DEPOT. Located in the North of Amsterdam, DEPOT is a club that opens its doors to everyone. Only condition: love for electronic music. More information?
